Sustainable Holiday Crafts
Brrr… it’s officially snowed for the first time this season. Are you looking for a craft to stay warm and cozy indoors? We’re feeling festive lately with some sustainable projects from the gardens!
Pine cones and dried allium flowers can be decorated with a 1-to-1 part mixture of flour and water, painted on with a paintbrush, and sprinkled with coarse sea salt. Apply the salt while the flour mixture is still wet, and shake off excess salt – then let dry. Looks snowy and magical, and they make wonderful ornaments when tied up with twine. Better yet? They’re biodegradable/compostable when it’s time to take down the tree.
