West Ward Clean Up Day

Calling all community members and businesses! We need YOU! We had a BIG day planned with lots of beautification jobs ready to be done around the neighborhood, but COVID-19 has put a damper on that. But, that doesn’t mean we can’t take the day to clean up around our homes! So, join the neighborhood (while practicing good social distancing) on Saturday, April 25th, 2020, anytime throughout the day, for a West Ward Clean-Up Day.

It’s simple! You can…

  • Spruce up the area in front of your house(s)
  • Weed and mulch tree wells
  • Sweep along the curb lines
  • Pick-up trash
  • Clear storm water drain grates
  • Plant your window boxes or front porch planters
  • Sweep off your front porch
  • Wipe down your front door & trim
  • Clean your windows
  • Hose down siding and shutters
  • Clean-up back alleys

Share your photos with us – we’d love to see how you made an impact on your neighborhood!

**Unfortunately we are unable to provide clean-up supplies likes gloves and trash bags. Due to the City’s stretched resources we are unable to provide block-specific trash pick-ups at this time.

Thank you

To all the great neighbors that came out and supported our first West Ward Clean Up Day, we can’t thank you enough. Even though we participated separately, we acted together, as one.

Whether you spent 20 minutes, 2 hours, or all day cleaning or sprucing up your property, it was so very much appreciated. As one of our participants said, “pride is contagious.”

Check out this awesome video documenting some of the day’s efforts by local photographer/videographer and West Ward resident, Jay Arch.
